White House Deputy Communications Director Kaelan Dorr shared an emotional story about his last interaction with conservative activist Charlie Kirk, painting a picture of Kirk’s personal kindness behind the scenes.

Dorr recounted wandering the hallways of the Executive Office Building when Kirk noticed him looking distressed. Kirk immediately rushed over, placed a hand on Dorr’s shoulder, and asked what was wrong.

“I mentioned, ‘man, you know, my baby's 6 months old. We are going through it... I'm struggling, man,’” Dorr recalled. “He sat there and he prayed for me in the halls of the EOB for quite a bit of time, and he didn’t need to do that, right?”

Dorr went on to describe Kirk’s humility when praised for his work as a father and as a leader at Turning Point. “I asked him, ‘dude, how do you do it? How are you doing it? You’re killing it. You’re a great dad... doing an amazing job at Turning Point.’ He looks at me and says, ‘I have a great team.’”

In a moment of humor, Dorr joked about needing help for a nanny fund. Kirk responded by pointing out that the “team” wasn’t just his organization but also the colleagues around them.
