Video captured a dangerous incident on the Massachusetts Turnpike in Boston on Tuesday, January 13, showing a man clinging to the back of a moving pickup truck for approximately 30 seconds before falling onto the roadway.

According to local outlet WCVB, citing a Massachusetts State Police spokesperson, the man was experiencing a mental health crisis at the time of the incident. Footage recorded by Olban Santos shows the individual gripping the tailgate of the pickup as it traveled along the busy highway, creating a serious risk to both the man and surrounding drivers.

State police said the same individual had also jumped onto the hood of a Massachusetts Department of Transportation truck earlier in the incident. Law enforcement located the man shortly afterward and transported him to a hospital for evaluation.

Authorities confirmed that no drivers were injured during the episode. The incident prompted renewed warnings from officials about the dangers posed by unpredictable behavior on high-speed roadways and the importance of rapid intervention during mental health emergencies.
