NJ Transit has implemented systemwide rail schedule modifications that took effect Sunday, February 15, and will remain in place through March 15, significantly affecting daily travel for thousands of commuters across New Jersey and into New York. The temporary adjustments apply to every rail line in the network with the sole exception of the Atlantic City Rail Line, which will continue operating on its regular timetable.

Transit officials describe the changes as necessary to accommodate operational constraints and ongoing infrastructure considerations, but for riders the immediate impact is reduced service frequency, altered departure times, and longer wait periods between trains. Peak-hour commuters are expected to experience the most noticeable disruptions, particularly on heavily traveled corridors where even minor schedule shifts can cascade into platform crowding and missed connections.

The modified timetables require passengers to carefully review updated schedules before traveling, as familiar departure patterns may no longer apply. Riders who rely on timed transfers to PATH trains, Amtrak services, or connecting bus routes may need to build additional buffer time into their commutes to avoid delays. Weekend travelers are also advised to check schedules in advance, since the adjustments extend beyond weekday peak service and affect off-peak operations as well.
