Tony Blair is drawing a hard line between slogans and solutions when it comes to Gaza's future, and he did not mince words doing it. In a new video address as a member of the Board of Peace, the international body chaired by President Trump to oversee Gaza's postwar reconstruction, Blair argued that chants of 'Free Palestine' offer nothing to the people actually living through the crisis. What Gazans need, he said, is a real path to peace with their neighbors, one that cannot exist as long as the territory is governed by forces waging a war it has no realistic chance of winning. It was a pointed message aimed squarely at Hamas's continued grip on power, delivered by a man now tasked with helping chart what comes next.

Blair leaned into the weight of that responsibility, describing the Board of Peace as a group of people with, in his words, good hearts and creative minds, united around one goal: a peace durable enough to actually last. He framed that durability as something that has to be built on solid ground through real reform, not symbolic gestures, laying out the long-term stability the board says it is working toward. Still, the clip has stirred plenty of pushback online, with critics quick to point out Blair's own history as the British prime minister who took the UK into the Iraq War in 2003, a past that continues to shadow his credibility on questions of peace and intervention in the Middle East.
