GOD'S PROVISION: Declassified Footage Reveals Daring Rescue Of "Bravo"

Newly declassified Pentagon footage has revealed the dramatic final moments of one of the most daring rescue operations of the Iran war, the extraction of an injured U.S. Air Force weapons systems officer known only by his call sign, Bravo. The video shows two Air Force Pararescue operators, elite specialists known as PJs, reaching him on a remote ridgeline and guiding him to safety after he spent nearly 50 hours evading capture deep inside hostile territory. Bravo had been forced to eject from his F-15E Strike Eagle alongside his pilot, callsign Alpha, after their jet was struck during a nighttime mission, and he suffered serious injuries during a violent, high-speed fall when his parachute was damaged. Alpha was recovered within hours, but Bravo remained alone, injured and undetected for two full days before rescuers finally reached him.

Locating Bravo proved to be one of the hardest parts of the entire mission. The Central Intelligence Agency stepped in to help, running a deception campaign designed to mislead Iranian search parties while using specialized surveillance technology to pinpoint his exact coordinates on the mountainside. That intelligence work gave American commanders the window they needed to move before Iranian forces, who were actively hunting for him, could get there first. Rather than waiting for the safety of darkness, part of the operation was carried out in daylight, a decision commanders made because of the urgency of the threat closing in on him.

Pulling off the rescue took a massive, coordinated effort. More than 90 special operators, drawn from units including Army Delta Force and Navy SEAL Team Six, took part in the mission on the ground, backed by additional crews in the air and intelligence personnel working behind the scenes. American strikes on nearby Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps positions helped clear the way before the final approach, and the extraction team flew in aboard MH-6 Little Bird helicopters to reach him on the ridgeline. The operation marked the first time American boots touched Iranian soil in decades, underscoring just how extraordinary the mission was in scope and risk.

Even getting everyone home safely came with last-minute complications, after aircraft supporting the mission became stuck in soft desert sand at a makeshift landing strip, forcing a separate covert unit to come in and finish the extraction while the stranded aircraft was later destroyed so its technology could not fall into Iranian hands. Throughout his ordeal, Bravo has described leaning on his faith to get through it, recalling a moment when he simply stopped and prayed for God's will to be done. Reflecting on the moment the PJs finally reached him, he called it one of the greatest moments of his life and described his survival and rescue as nothing short of a testament to God's provision.
