Israeli Ambassador to the United Nations Danny Danon delivered a powerful and uncompromising message on International Holocaust Remembrance Day, declaring that “the days when Jews are massacred without response are over.” Speaking before the international community, Danon addressed the alarming rise in antisemitism worldwide and underscored Israel’s determination to defend Jewish lives wherever they are threatened.

Danon’s remarks came amid a sharp global increase in antisemitic attacks, including violent incidents targeting Jewish institutions, communities, and individuals. He warned that the lessons of history demand more than remembrance, insisting that silence and inaction only embolden hatred. According to Danon, remembrance must be paired with resolve, deterrence, and accountability.

The ambassador emphasized that Israel was founded to ensure Jews would never again be defenseless in the face of violence. He made clear that the Jewish state will act decisively against those who seek to harm Jews, whether through terrorism, state-sponsored extremism, or incitement disguised as political activism.

Danon also challenged international bodies to confront antisemitism honestly, criticizing selective outrage and double standards applied to Israel while Jewish communities face growing threats. He called on world leaders to treat antisemitism as a real and present danger, not a historical abstraction.

His statement resonated strongly with pro-Israel advocates, who view it as a reaffirmation of Israel’s role as the ultimate guarantor of Jewish security. On a day dedicated to remembering the victims of the Holocaust, Danon’s message was unmistakable: Jewish history will not repeat itself, and attacks on Jews will no longer go unanswered.
