A routine police stop in Lod's Pardes Snir neighborhood turned chaotic on Tuesday when a motorcyclist, allegedly trying to dodge an inspection, struck an officer and sped off, leaving him injured on the road. Newly released footage shows the collision in stark detail, the rider and officer both going down before the suspect speeds away. The officer sustained light injuries and was evacuated for medical treatment, while Central District and Border Police units scrambled to launch a wide-reaching manhunt across multiple jurisdictions. The search drew in operational and intelligence resources as authorities worked to track down the rider before he could disappear for good.

About two hours later, officers caught up with the suspect, a Lod resident in his 20s, at a gas station near the Nitzanei Oz interchange close to the Triangle region. He was taken into custody and transferred to the Lod police station for questioning, with police releasing additional footage showing the moment of his arrest. The case remains under investigation, and the suspect is expected to appear in court Wednesday morning, when investigators are expected to request an extension of his detention. Police have not yet detailed what charges he may face, but authorities say the case will hinge on findings from the ongoing probe.
