Homan Defends $20M Shock Gloves: ICE Agents Need Non-Lethal Power Now!

Border Czar Tom Homan strongly defended a major Department of Homeland Security plan to equip federal agents with advanced electric shock gloves during an interview with Fox’s Brian Kilmeade. DHS intends to spend up to $20 million on the devices, known as G.L.O.V.E. or CTG-5 gloves, which deliver up to 380 volts through direct skin contact. Homan described the technology as a practical tool designed to gain compliance from individuals who refuse to cooperate. He emphasized that agents must have effective non-lethal options so lethal force is never the first response.

The gloves are scheduled for delivery to ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations and Homeland Security Investigations agents by March 2027. Officials position the equipment as a de-escalation device that creates a brief distraction, allowing officers to gain control safely and quickly. This investment comes as the Trump administration intensifies immigration enforcement across the country. Supporters argue the gloves will protect both agents and the public by reducing the need for more dangerous physical confrontations.

Homan’s comments highlight a clear priority: giving frontline officers the tools they need to enforce the law without unnecessary risk. In situations where someone resists, a controlled electrical stimulus can end the struggle before it escalates into a more serious incident. Critics may raise concerns, but the focus remains on practical safety and effective policing. The technology offers a measured response that prioritizes compliance over confrontation.

This move reflects a broader commitment to equipping ICE and other federal agents with modern resources for the challenges they face daily. By investing in non-lethal alternatives, the administration is working to strengthen enforcement while minimizing harm. New Yorkers and Americans who support secure borders and lawful immigration will see this as a sensible step forward. Agents on the ground deserve every reasonable advantage to do their jobs safely and successfully.
