A rare and breathtaking display of mammatus clouds lit up the evening sky this week, creating a stunning backdrop for sunset watchers and photographers alike. These pouch-like formations, known for their dramatic and otherworldly appearance, formed beneath a dissipating thunderstorm, casting golden and amber hues across the horizon.

Often associated with severe weather, mammatus clouds are characterized by rounded, bulging shapes that hang from the base of larger cloud systems. While they might look ominous, their presence typically signals the storm is weakening rather than intensifying.

Social media was flooded with images from across the region as skywatchers captured the surreal light show. The rare combination of atmospheric moisture, wind shear, and the setting sun created a visual masterpiece—proving that sometimes, nature’s most powerful displays come after the storm has passed.
