As of September 2025, Forbes reports that Elon Musk remains the richest person on the planet, with a net worth of approximately $415.6 billion, followed by tech giants Larry Ellison at around $270.9 billion, Mark Zuckerberg at $253.0 billion, and Jeff Bezos at $240.9 billion. Rounding out the top tier are Google’s Larry Page ($178.3 B) and Sergey Brin ($165.9 B), luxury magnate Bernard Arnault ($154.3 B), Microsoft’s Steve Ballmer ($153.1 B), Nvidia’s Jensen Huang ($151.4 B), and investing legend Warren Buffett ($150.4 B)
Despite an overall surge in U.S. stock markets during August, four members of this elite group actually saw their net worth decline. In contrast, the other six grew richer over the same period. The losses reflect volatility even at the very top of the wealth scale.
Notably, nine of the top ten billionaires are American, with Bernard Arnault being the sole exception, underscoring the dominance of U.S.-based tech and business leaders in global wealth accumulation
