The suspect in the fatal shooting of U.S. commentator Charlie Kirk has been formally charged with aggravated murder and multiple related offenses. Prosecutors announced that 22-year-old Tyler Robinson faces seven charges in total, including obstruction of justice and witness tampering.

Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray confirmed during a press conference that Robinson could face the death penalty if convicted.

New details have also emerged about Robinson’s actions before his arrest. According to The Washington Post, Robinson allegedly confessed in a Discord group chat, writing: “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all. It was me at UVU yesterday.”

Authorities say the message, combined with other evidence, played a key role in the investigation. Robinson remains in custody as prosecutors prepare for trial in what has become a high-profile and deeply polarizing case.
