Saudi Arabia has employed Chinese-made ballistic missiles in its ongoing campaign against Ansarullah forces in Yemen, according to debris recovered in Marib province. A booster stage from a DF-15A short-range missile was found in the desert, providing the clearest evidence yet that Riyadh is using these weapons alongside its more familiar American aircraft. Local video circulating from the site shows a large cylindrical rocket motor section lying on the ground amid scattered wreckage, with residents examining the remains while an inset image identifies the hardware as matching the Chinese DF-15 system. The discovery marks a notable expansion of Saudi strike options in the conflict.

Analysts now believe the kingdom may hold even more capable Chinese missiles beyond the DF-15A. Saudi Arabia has already publicly acknowledged possessing the older DF-3A and the more advanced DF-21 systems, giving it a potent land-based arsenal that can reach deep into Yemen without relying solely on air power. This development comes amid recent border clashes and raises fresh questions about the depth of Riyadh’s military partnership with Beijing, the accuracy and frequency of these missile strikes, and how the introduction of Chinese ballistic weapons could reshape the balance of firepower in the war.
