Gaza City — In a major tactical operation, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported the destruction of a kilometer-long Hamas tunnel beneath Gaza City, stretching through the Daraj and Tuffah neighborhoods — areas previously identified as strongholds for Hamas activity.

According to a military statement, the 401st Armored Brigade, working in coordination with the elite Yahalom combat engineering unit, uncovered the tunnel during a focused sweep of the urban sector. The underground passage was believed to be a key component of Hamas’ infrastructure, used for transporting fighters, storing weapons, or launching attacks inside Israeli territory.
