Russian stuntman and content creator Evgeny Chebotarev went viral this weekend for all the wrong reasons after his attempt to haul a military Mi-2 helicopter on top of a pickup truck ended with both the vehicle and the chopper tipping over in dramatic fashion. Dashcam footage of the mishap shows the pickup struggling along a rough dirt road under the helicopter's weight before losing balance entirely, flipping onto its side and dragging the aircraft down with it. The 35-year-old Rostov-on-Don-based performer, known for his extreme, high-cost stunts involving luxury cars and motorcycles, had reportedly been moving the helicopter roughly 10 kilometers to a filming location without proper transport equipment when the load shifted mid-drive.
Despite the spectacular tumble, the outcome was relatively mild as far as Chebotarev's stunts go, the crash damaged one of the helicopter's rotor blades but caused no serious injuries to anyone involved. True to form, he reportedly repaired the damage, kept filming content from the scene, and has already floated plans for a similar stunt involving an airplane. It's a fitting entry in Chebotarev's long track record of outlandish, often dangerous content, a career that has previously included launching himself through the windshield of a speeding minibus and surviving a stunt that once fractured his spine. Whatever comes next, it's safe to say this won't be the last time his name trends online for a stunt gone wrong.
