According to the group, a locally produced SAM downed the aircraft during Saudi support operations, after which additional Saudi jets were repelled. The claim comes against a backdrop of more than 450 Saudi airstrikes reported across Yemeni provinces this week. Saudi Arabia has not confirmed any aircraft loss.

At the same time Riyadh accused the Houthis of launching a drone toward Mecca, an allegation the group denies. The exchange of claims underscores the intensifying nature of the long-running conflict and the difficulty of verifying battlefield losses in real time. The footage and competing narratives leave open questions about the actual outcome of the overnight engagement and whether either side will produce further evidence. For now the Houthis are presenting the video as proof of a successful intercept while Saudi officials remain silent on any jet loss.
