UMAN — A brief security scare unfolded near the tziyun of Reb Nachman of Breslov after an unattended bag was spotted close to the site just hours before Rosh Hashanah.

According to Belaaz, authorities quickly responded and examined the suspicious bag as large numbers of Yidden filled the surrounding area.

B’chasdei Hashem, the incident ended without danger. The bag was determined to pose no threat and was reportedly an unattended Osher Ad shopping bag.

The scare comes amid heightened security surrounding this year’s Rosh Hashanah kibbutz. Ukrainian authorities have implemented special security measures throughout the pilgrimage area, including checkpoints, movement restrictions and an increased law-enforcement presence as thousands continue arriving in Uman.
