U.S. Customs and Border Protection reaffirmed its stance on border enforcement, declaring, “Border security is national security,” as the agency released new footage showing the ongoing construction of the U.S.–Mexico border wall. The video, posted on X, features crews welding steel bollard panels, operating heavy machinery, and assembling new segments of the wall in a desert region—part of the broader push to strengthen physical security along the southern border.

The update comes as the Department of Homeland Security continues issuing targeted waivers of environmental regulations to accelerate construction across key high-traffic corridors. In November 2025, DHS approved waivers for projects in Arizona and Texas, including a major Laredo expansion set to begin on December 25. Federal announcements and local officials confirmed that these projects are designed to close long-standing gaps, deter unlawful crossings, and support frontline agents overwhelmed by sustained border pressures.

CBP’s message emphasizes the administration’s approach: prioritizing rapid infrastructure development to bolster national security, assist law enforcement personnel, and reduce vulnerabilities exploited by smugglers and criminal networks. The agency’s post signals continued momentum for wall construction as part of a broader strategy to enhance order and stability along the southern border.
