Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is firing off a sarcastic jab at Vladimir Putin after Russia allegedly kept striking Ukraine just hours after Donald Trump announced an immediate Russia-Ukraine energy ceasefire. Trump made the announcement on Truth Social on Sunday, and Zelensky says that right after the post, Russia launched a targeted strike on a power plant in the Kharkiv region. Speaking to the Warsaw Security Forum on Monday, he said it was clear that Putin doesn't read Truth Social, adding that Russian Shahed drones follow a different set of instructions. Zelensky stressed that Ukraine is ready to respect an energy ceasefire if Russia does the same, and he warned that Kyiv will respond if Moscow refuses. He also pushed Washington to step in and make sure the truce works in reality, not just online.

In the same remarks, Zelensky also claimed that Ukrainian strikes on Yandex data centers have led to fewer Russian bots, less hate, and fewer provocations across social media. That claim comes from Zelensky himself and has not been independently verified. Ukrainian drones hit Yandex data centers in Russia's Ryazan and Kaluga regions in recent days, causing outages across Russian online services, and Kyiv has described the attacks as a response in kind to Russian strikes on Ukrainian data centers since late September. The clash between a freshly announced ceasefire and fresh strikes raises a big question: is the energy truce real, or just a headline? For now, Kyiv says Russia has yet to honor it, and the next few days could show whether the deal means anything on the ground.
