JERUSALEM — Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is preparing to convene his security cabinet to determine Israel’s next course of action in Gaza, amid a breakdown in ceasefire negotiations with Hamas.

The high-level meeting comes after the collapse of indirect talks aimed at halting the ongoing war, which has now stretched on for months with no clear resolution in sight. Netanyahu emphasized that the cabinet will review military and strategic options, signaling a potential escalation.

A senior Israeli official indicated that the use of additional force remains "on the table" if Hamas continues to resist diplomatic efforts.
