Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps is claiming it carried out drone strikes against Israeli and American targets, alleging that Arash-2 UAVs hit Israel Aerospace Industries facilities near Ben Gurion Airport and U.S. reconnaissance aircraft at Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia. Iranian state media presented the operation as retaliation for earlier strikes on the Natanz nuclear site and released footage showing drone launches and flights in low visibility. The claims are significant because they seek to project Iranian reach against both Israel’s defense sector and U.S. military assets in the Gulf.

Despite the dramatic rhetoric from Tehran, independent verification of the alleged hits remains absent. Israeli and Saudi reporting has indicated that incoming threats were intercepted, with no confirmed evidence so far of successful Iranian strikes causing the damage claimed by the IRGC. Saudi Arabia has publicly said missiles aimed at Prince Sultan Air Base were intercepted, reinforcing skepticism toward Tehran’s account.

The alleged target near Ben Gurion is particularly sensitive because Israel Aerospace Industries plays a central role in the country’s missile defense and aerospace production. By claiming to have targeted fuel infrastructure and Arrow-related production, Iran appears to be trying to signal that it can threaten strategic Israeli defense capabilities even when actual results remain unconfirmed. That pattern fits a broader information campaign in which Iranian officials frequently issue maximalist battlefield claims that are difficult to substantiate.

The wider backdrop is the ongoing 2026 Iran-Israel-U.S. escalation, in which both direct attacks and proxy operations have intensified across multiple fronts. Israel has continued to report interceptions of Iranian projectiles, while regional states have also highlighted successful defensive responses to incoming threats. In that context, Tehran’s announcement looks as much like psychological warfare as a verified military success.

For now, the IRGC’s statement stands as an unproven battlefield claim rather than an established operational breakthrough. Unless Israel, Saudi Arabia, the United States, or independent imagery confirms actual damage, the more credible reading is that Iran is using bold public messaging to shape perceptions after coming under sustained military pressure. The episode underscores how the information war is now running alongside the shooting war, with each side trying to control the narrative as the confrontation widens.
