Police officers were filmed striking demonstrators with batons during a large anti-draft hafgana in Yerushalayim on Thursday.

The hafgana took place near the entrance to Yerushalayim, where demonstrators gathered to protest the recent arrests of yeshiva bochurim over military draft matters.

As police attempted to clear blocked roads, confrontations broke out between officers and demonstrators. Video footage from the scene showed officers using batons, while reports also described the use of stun grenades.

The hafgana caused significant traffic disruptions near the entrance to the city. Additional demonstrations took place in the Bnei Brak area, where sections of Route 4 were blocked.

The demonstrations followed renewed arrests of bnei yeshivos, which prompted calls for widespread protests.
