A tense standoff in rural Clackamas County, Oregon, ended when a SWAT team used an armored vehicle to ram a compact tractor driven by a local man accused of firing more than 200 rounds. Erik Gordon Shunn, 53, allegedly opened fire on professional arborists cutting trees near his property on South Rocky Bluff Lane near Oregon City on August 29. Witnesses reported he directed roughly 20 shots toward the tree crew, though no one was hit. After deputies arrived and launched surveillance drones, Shunn reportedly fired additional rounds at the aircraft overhead. Authorities later determined the total number of shots exceeded 200 across the entire incident.

Responding deputies quickly surrounded the property and called in the Clackamas County SWAT team along with crisis negotiators. Drone footage captured Shunn in his driveway using the tractor to knock down trees in what officials described as an apparent attempt to create a barricade.
