Drama at Ben Gurion Airport Over Anonymous Warning About Explosives on a Flight from New York
A Delta flight from New York was evacuated on Tuesday morning at Ben Gurion Airport after security officials received an anonymous bomb threat.
The flight, which originated at JFK Airport, was directed to an isolated section of the tarmac upon landing. Passengers were safely evacuated from the aircraft while security forces conducted a comprehensive sweep of the plane, including the cargo hold.
The search ultimately turned up empty, with no explosives or suspicious objects found on board. The aircraft was given the all-clear, and regular operations at the airport quickly returned to normal.
Reports indicate that the anonymous warning was received just a short time before the plane was set to land. Authorities have not yet identified the source of the threat.
