Armed Israeli settlers have repeatedly entered the Palestinian village of Al-Mughayyir near Ramallah in recent days, with video showing settlers moving through the area alongside IDF soldiers as a series of confrontations left several Palestinians wounded.

Footage from Friday, August 28, showed armed settlers entering Al-Mughayyir while Israeli troops were present. The Times of Israel reported that two Palestinian residents were struck by IDF gunfire while attempting to confront the settlers, citing the Palestinian Authority's WAFA news agency.

WAFA reported that residents accused the settlers of attempting to steal livestock and said several sheep were shot during the confrontation. The agency also alleged that Israeli forces prevented an ambulance from immediately reaching the wounded. There was no immediate IDF response included in contemporary Israeli reporting on that incident.

Violence continued over the weekend. On Saturday, the head of Al-Mughayyir's village council said settlers accompanied by Israeli forces again approached the village, attempted to enter a home and brought livestock into the area. Israeli troops fired tear gas during confrontations with residents, according to WAFA.

Another confrontation erupted Sunday evening. Palestinian medical officials reported four people suffering live-fire wounds as settlers again entered the village. Initial accounts differed over who fired the rounds: some Palestinian reports attributed the shooting to Israeli troops, while others said settlers opened fire.

Haaretz reported Monday that two minors were among Palestinians wounded and that settlers subsequently surrounded a home and took equipment from its yard.

The incidents at Al-Mughayyir come amid a broader surge of settler violence in the West Bank that has prompted concern within Israel's security establishment. Recent Israeli reporting says military and intelligence officials fear continued attacks could contribute to a wider escalation.
