With heavy hearts, we report the petirah of HaGaon HaRav Mordechai Auerbach ZT"L, Rav of the Abir Yaakov - Sadigura Beis Medrash in Tel Aviv, who was niftar over Shabbos at the age of 84.

The Rav ZT"L had been battling a severe bout of pneumonia in recent days. He was taken to Ichilov Hospital, where he ultimately returned his neshamah to its Maker.

Born on 3 Adar 5702 to his illustrious father, the Posek Hador, HaGaon HaRav Shlomo Zalman Auerbach ZT"L, he later became the son-in-law of HaGaon HaRav Aharon Lemberger ZT"L and established his home in Tel Aviv.

At the directive of the Rebbes of the Ruzhiner dynasty, Rav Mordechai was appointed as the Rav of the Abir Yaakov - Sadigura Beis Medrash in the city. He led the kehillah with tremendous devotion and strength for decades, serving as a beacon of Torah in Tel Aviv.

The levayah departed from his Beis Medrash in Tel Aviv, with the participation of numerous Admorim and Rabbanim. He was then brought to kevurah on Har HaMenuchos, near the tziyon of his great father ZT"L.
