U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that American forces conducted large-scale airstrikes against multiple ISIS targets across Syria as part of Operation Hawkeye Strike. The operation, executed in coordination with partner forces on the ground, represents a direct response to a December 2025 ambush near Palmyra that resulted in the deaths of two U.S. soldiers and a civilian contractor.

According to CENTCOM, the strikes targeted ISIS infrastructure, including command centers, weapons depots, and logistical hubs, with the goal of degrading the groupโ€™s operational capabilities. Video footage released by CENTCOM shows F-15 and A-10 aircraft launching at dusk from an undisclosed location, followed by infrared imagery capturing multiple explosions across militant positions. The footage highlights both the precision of the strikes and the integration of U.S. forces with local allies to enhance operational effectiveness.

Operation Hawkeye Strike underscores the United Statesโ€™ continued commitment to combating ISIS in Syria and the broader region, particularly in light of recent attacks against American personnel. CENTCOM emphasized that the strikes were carefully coordinated to minimize civilian casualties while targeting strategic sites critical to ISIS operations.

Military analysts note that the scale and sophistication of the strikes demonstrate the readiness and adaptability of U.S. airpower, as well as the growing cooperation with partner forces in Syria. The operation serves as both a direct tactical response to previous attacks and a broader strategic signal to terrorist organizations that threats to U.S. personnel will be met with decisive action.

CENTCOM continues to monitor the operational impact of the strikes and will maintain readiness to conduct further operations as necessary to disrupt ISIS capabilities, protect U.S. and allied forces, and stabilize the region against extremist activity.
