Houthi military media has released dramatic footage that it says shows Rujum drones dropping unguided bombs from high altitude onto vehicles and positions of Saudi-backed forces in Yemen's desert terrain. The video shows explosions and plumes of smoke, with personnel running to scatter as the munitions land. The Houthis present the strikes as a sign of improved accuracy when dropping bombs from elevated positions. Because the footage comes from the Houthis themselves, the claims about what was hit, and what damage or casualties resulted, have not been independently verified.

The Rujum is a hexacopter drone that the Houthis unveiled in 2021 as a multi-use platform, and it carries small munitions such as mortar rounds that are dropped on targets rather than crashed into them like a kamikaze drone. That makes it a cheap tool for hitting ground targets across several fronts. Houthi media say they have released similar clips before, and the new footage fits a pattern in Yemen's long conflict in which the group relies on locally adapted drones for both reconnaissance and attacks on Saudi-affiliated forces. As with most wartime videos, the footage shows only what its publisher chose to release. The key open question is how much of the claimed accuracy and damage holds up once independent sources weigh in.
