Iran's beleaguered regime is facing yet another internal threat after Jaysh al-Adl, now operating under the banner of the People's Fighters Front, released a new propaganda video from the restive Sistan and Balochistan province warning Iranian security forces. The footage shows armed militants perched on motorcycles across rugged, mountainous terrain, brandishing an assortment of rifles including Bulgarian Arsenal AR models, AKM and Type 56-1 variants, and older AK-47 patterns, while flying a flag associated with the Baloch cause. The display of force comes as Tehran's government finds itself stretched thin, simultaneously managing a fragile ceasefire with the United States and Israel while facing renewed unrest along its southeastern frontier.

The group, which merged several Sunni Baloch militias into a single front in late 2025, has a long and violent history of targeting Iranian security installations, having previously carried out coordinated assaults on Revolutionary Guard headquarters, police stations, and border patrols along the Pakistan frontier. Formed in 2012 as the successor to the outlawed Jundullah movement, the organization has long framed its campaign as a fight for greater rights and autonomy for Iran's Sunni Baloch minority, a community that has repeatedly accused Tehran's Shia-led government of systemic discrimination and neglect. This latest video appears designed to project renewed strength and recruit new fighters at a moment when the regime's grip looks increasingly fragile.

For a government still reeling from the loss of its supreme leader, a bruising war with the U.S. and Israel, and an economy strained by blockade, the timing of this threat could hardly be worse. Analysts have long pointed to internal discontent among Iran's ethnic and religious minorities as one of the regime's most persistent vulnerabilities, and a resurgent insurgency in the southeast adds yet another pressure point to an already overstretched security apparatus. Whether this show of force translates into a fresh wave of attacks remains to be seen, but the message from Sistan and Balochistan is unmistakable: Tehran's troubles are far from over.
