During the latest Cabinet meeting, key members of President Trumpโs administration detailed efforts to stop questionable spending and shift federal priorities back toward merit and accountability.
Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick revealed that just days before President Trump took office, officials in the Commerce Department attempted to funnel billions out of taxpayer funds.
โFour days before you took office, U.S. Department of Commerce, which had the CHIPS money, they set upโฆ a make-believe not-for-profit. They signed contracts to wire them $7.4 billion,โ Lutnick explained. โWe stopped the payment. Weโve got the money.โ
On defense matters, Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth emphasized a cultural reset within the U.S. military, moving away from what he called years of politicized agendas.
