The Pentagon's newest batch of UAP files includes a strange June 2026 encounter in which federal agents say a small, dark, triangular craft rose straight up in complete silence near a security site in the western United States. The object, described as roughly 9 to 15 feet across, hovered, then accelerated like a fighter jet with no visible exhaust and no noise. The file is part of the seventh release of 28 documents made public under a 2026 executive order on unidentified anomalous phenomena, and it comes with illustrations of what the agents reported seeing. For many readers, the big question is simple: what could fly like that without making a sound?

The Pentagon's All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office, known as AARO, reviewed infrared observations from the FBI agents, who recorded a thermally hot object with no visible means of propulsion. The office noted that its movement resembled other UAP reports from the western U.S. and recommended further investigation. Online, some people are linking the sighting to secret U.S. aircraft such as the rumored "TR-3B," but there is no confirmed evidence that such a craft exists, and the files do not say what the object was. AARO has also continued to say it has found no evidence of extraterrestrial technology, so "unexplained" here means unidentified, not alien. Until more analysis is released, the sighting remains an open case.
