A tech blogger from Hubei, China, known online as Amazing Ayu (神奇阿宇), says he has built a working electric hoverboard and flown it over his own hometown. The board runs on 10 brushless motors, each reportedly producing more than 30kg of thrust, which is enough to lift four people, and its peak current is said to hit a staggering 2,000 amps. His video shows stable hovering and forward movement over water, bridges and mountainous terrain, with glowing LED accents lighting up the board. It is the kind of footage that looks like a movie scene, which is exactly why so many viewers are asking whether it is real and how it works.
The secret to staying in the air appears to be a pair of STEPX Neo smartphones acting as the board's brain. One phone inside the board reads his posture data in real time, while the other, strapped to his wrist, feeds AI voice prompts through his earbuds, with coaching like "Weight's shifting left!" and "Bend your right knee!" After more than 10 days of intensive training and AI-assisted correction, he says he reached what he calls man-machine sync. Big questions remain, including how long a single flight can last, how the board handles power and safety, and whether anyone else could safely copy it. For now, the details come from the creator's own video and posts, but the footage has certainly made people look up.
