Qatar is sounding the alarm just one day before its leadership sits down with President Trump and fellow Gulf leaders, accusing Israel of continuing to kill people and block humanitarian aid in Gaza despite the ceasefire meant to stop exactly that. Speaking bluntly, Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani said one party is being reckless and refusing to honor its commitments, still killing and still keeping aid from reaching people who need it, while the rest of the world looks the other way. He called directly on the Israeli government to fulfill what it agreed to, a pointed message delivered right before a high-stakes meeting where the future of the deal is likely to come up. The timing is no accident, and it puts fresh pressure on Washington just as talks are set to begin.

Because Trump's name is attached to the Gaza plan, every week it stalls makes it look like his deal, not just the ceasefire, that is falling apart, and he remains the one figure with enough leverage over Israel to force compliance. Qatar has played a central mediating role throughout the process, working alongside Egypt and other partners to keep the fragile agreement from collapsing entirely. The complaints raised this week echo ongoing disputes over the plan's later phases, covering Hamas disarmament, an Israeli withdrawal and new governance arrangements for Gaza, all of which mediators have repeatedly pushed every side to actually follow through on. With Doha now walking into direct talks with Trump and other regional leaders, the question is whether public pressure finally moves Israel, or whether the deal keeps fraying in plain sight.
