Monticello — A beautiful maamad chizuk and early Bar Mitzvah celebration took place at Camp Chaim V'Shalom Munkatch in Monticello for habochur Shlomi Gerami, son of Rav Yehuda Gerami shlit”a, the Chief Rabbi of Iran.

Rav Gerami is currently in New York for a series of visits and meetings to advocate and arrange vital matters on behalf of his kehillah. During his trip, the Rav visited the Munkatch camp, where the campers and staff arranged a special, elaborate program in honor of his son.

The young Bar Mitzvah bochur, who resides in Iran, was treated to a remarkably warm reception. The campers put together a beautiful evening filled with surprises, presentations, lively singing, and dancing, as they truly shared in the simcha.

Visibly moved to tears by the extraordinary display of ahavas Yisroel, the Iranian Chief Rabbi expressed his deep gratitude to the entire camp staff for organizing the unforgettable maamad.
