The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) successfully intercepted a Houthi-launched drone targeting the southern city of Eilat on October 5, 2025, preventing any casualties or damage.

According to IDF reports, the Iron Dome air defense system detected and destroyed the unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) midair. Real-time footage captured the dramatic moment as multiple interceptor missiles streaked across the night sky, followed by bright explosions over the Red Sea city.

The interception marks the latest in a series of attempted drone attacks from Yemen’s Houthi rebels, who have repeatedly targeted southern Israel amid regional tensions.

No injuries or property damage were reported, and Israeli authorities praised the quick response of the country’s air defense operators for maintaining civilian safety.
