PRISON BREAK MANHUNT: Convicted Murderer Jacob Morley Escapes Tennessee Prison, Steals Truck as $2,500 Reward Offered
A convicted murderer serving a life sentence has escaped from a Tennessee prison, triggering a manhunt after authorities discovered he had breached the facility’s perimeter fence and stolen a pickup truck. Jacob Allen Morley, 28, escaped from the Northwest Correctional Complex in Tiptonville late on October 25, 2026, according to the Tennessee Department of Correction. Officials discovered he was missing at approximately 11:30 p.m. and launched an emergency search, with surveillance footage subsequently confirming that he left the facility wearing his prison uniform. Investigators later obtained video showing Morley stealing a white 2008 Ford F-350 pickup truck at around 1 a.m. on October 26, bearing Tennessee license plate 138BBQV. The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation has added Morley to its Most Wanted list and announced a reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to his arrest.
Morley is serving a life sentence for the 2022 first-degree murder of Cody Birchfield, a former coworker whose body was discovered beneath Morley’s home weeks after he was reported missing. His convictions also include aggravated burglary, tampering with evidence, evading arrest and vandalism, according to authorities. The search has expanded beyond the prison grounds, with law enforcement agencies examining nearby properties and asking residents to review home security systems, doorbell cameras and trail-camera footage for possible sightings of Morley or the stolen truck. Authorities describe Morley as approximately 5 feet 11 inches tall, weighing 240 pounds, with brown hair and green eyes, and warn the public not to approach him. Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to call 911 or the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation at 1-800-TBI-FIND. As the manhunt continues, investigators are working to locate the escaped inmate and determine the circumstances surrounding his escape.
