Anduril Industries has released new test footage showcasing the destructive capability of its Altius-700M loitering munition, and the results leave little doubt about the system's intended purpose. The footage shows the weapon scoring direct hits on a range of targets, including stationary shipping containers and mobile vehicles like pickup trucks and Humvees, each strike producing a massive explosion on impact. What stands out most is the variety on display: the tests weren't limited to one scenario, but instead validated the munition's performance using different fuze types and targeting methods against both fixed and moving objects. For a company that has built its reputation on modern, software-driven defense technology, this kind of footage serves as a direct, visual proof point of what the Altius-700M can actually do in the field.

Behind the dramatic visuals sits a genuinely capable piece of hardware. The Altius-700M can carry a penetrating warhead weighing up to 33 pounds, giving it enough punch to defeat armored targets and hardened infrastructure rather than just lightly protected vehicles. It boasts a range of 160 kilometers and can loiter over an area for more than 75 minutes, giving operators significant flexibility in when and how they choose to strike. Perhaps most notably, the system isn't tied to one method of deployment; it can be launched from ground vehicles, aircraft, or maritime platforms, making it adaptable across different branches and mission types.

What separates the Altius-700M from older loitering munitions is its emphasis on autonomy and teamwork between multiple units. The system supports autonomous collaborative strikes, meaning multiple Altius-700M units can coordinate with one another to identify, share, and engage targets with minimal direct human input at each step. This kind of networked behavior reflects a broader shift in modern warfare, where speed and coordination between unmanned systems are increasingly seen as decisive advantages on the battlefield. Anduril has positioned the platform as part of a modular family of autonomous weapons designed to be adapted for different roles and customers rather than built as a single-purpose tool.

These latest tests are being framed by Anduril as critical lethality validation, a formal step that matters greatly for potential military buyers. Successfully demonstrating direct hits against both stationary and moving targets, using multiple fuze configurations, gives the U.S. military and allied forces the kind of performance data needed to move a system from prototype toward wider adoption. The Altius-700M is part of Anduril's larger push to reshape how autonomous weapons are designed, tested, and fielded, aiming to give military partners more flexible and networked strike capabilities. As footage like this continues to circulate, it reinforces the growing role that companies like Anduril are playing in defining the next generation of precision-guided, autonomous warfare.
