President Donald Trump addressed the possibility of negotiating a deal with Iran in a recent exchange with reporters, emphasizing a cautious but pragmatic approach. When asked whether a deal with the current Iranian regime could truly hold, Trump acknowledged the skepticism surrounding Tehran’s track record, stating, “A lot of people say no. And I would say that I’d rather make a deal.”

Trump highlighted that Iran had refused to engage with other parties, yet they were willing to talk directly with him, signaling a potential opening for negotiations. However, he was clear that any agreement must meet strict conditions: no nuclear weapons and no missile development. “It’s got to be a good deal,” Trump emphasized, underscoring his insistence on security and accountability.

While acknowledging Iran’s history of dishonesty, Trump framed the situation realistically, balancing caution with the potential for diplomatic progress.
