or HaGaon Rav Asher Weiss, vacation apparently means more time for Torah.

In a newly circulated video recapping his summer break, Rav Weiss described spending his vacation immersed in learning and writing, saying he learned 158 pages and wrote 58 pages of teshuvos during the period.

“I had a wonderful vacation,” Rav Weiss said, before describing what he accomplished during the break and asking rhetorically whether there could be a better vacation than that.

The remarks offer a striking glimpse into how the renowned posek approaches time away from his regular schedule: not as a break from Torah, but as another opportunity for intensive limud and writing.

Rav Weiss, one of the prominent contemporary poskim and author of the Minchas Asher series, regularly delivers shiurim and publishes extensive halachic responsa on subjects affecting Jewish communities around the world.

His lighthearted summary of the summer transformed what most would call a vacation into a memorable expression of ahavas haTorah.
