Boruch Dayan Ha’emes: Klal Yisroel is mourning the petirah of the Sanz-USA Rebbe, Harav Simcha Boruch Halberstam ZT"L, who passed away following a prolonged period of severe yissurim. Just hours before his petirah, the name "Simcha" was added as a zechus for a refuah sheleimah.

The Rebbe ZT"L, who succeeded his illustrious father, the Sanz-Gribov Rebbe ZT"L, led his kehillah with great devotion despite enduring tremendous suffering over the last few years.

The Rebbe leaves behind a beautiful dor yesharim, including four sons and three sons-in-law. His sons are Harav Chaim Yoel Halberstam, son-in-law of Harav Simcha Bunim Fischer of Mattersdorf; Harav Yaakov Halberstam, son-in-law of the Kshanov Rav (who is a son-in-law of the Strizover Rebbe); Harav Moshe Shmuel Halberstam, son-in-law of Harav Leibish Illovitz of Shamshon; and Harav Sinai Halberstam, son-in-law of Harav Nuta Landau, mechaber of Ner Yehoshua.

His sons-in-law are Harav Moshe Zainvil Braunstein, son of Harav Avraham Yitzchok Braunstein of the Vizhnitz kehillah in Monsey; Harav Aharon Aryeh Leibish Singer, son of the Alexander Rav and Rosh Yeshiva (son-in-law of the Strizover Rebbe); and Harav Yosef Yisroel Teitelbaum, son of Harav Elchonon Chaim Teitelbaum.

The Rebbe is also survived by his esteemed brothers: the Sanz-Krenitz Rebbe, the Bnei Torah Sanz Rebbe, the Sanz-Williamsburg Rebbe, the Sanz-Stropkov Rebbe, the Sanz-Monsey Rebbe, the Sanz-Staten Island Rebbe, the Sanz-Kiryas Joel Rebbe, and the Sanz-Gribov Rebbe.

His brothers-in-law include the Alexander Rebbe, the Kolomea Rebbe, the Vengrov Rav, the Dushinsky-Boro Park Rav, the Glogov Rav, and the Nitra Rosh Yeshiva.

Yehi zichro baruch. May we share only besuros tovos.
