Israeli security forces have released drone footage of the airstrike that killed Saher Nidal Latfi Sakr, the man filmed driving the motorcycle that dragged Noa Argamani and Avinatan Or away from the Nova music festival during the October 7, 2023 massacre. The joint IDF, Shin Bet, and Israel Police operation struck Sakr in the Nuseirat area of central Gaza on Saturday, with officials confirming the kill on Sunday after Palestinian media first reported the strike. Israeli authorities say Sakr was affiliated with global jihadist organizations active in Gaza, supplied weapons to Hamas throughout the war, and had more recently been working with Hamas and Palestinian Islamic Jihad operatives to plan fresh attacks against Israeli troops and civilians. Precision munitions and aerial surveillance were used in the strike in an effort to limit harm to civilians nearby, though Palestinian medical sources reported that at least one other person was wounded.

The strike closes a painful chapter tied to one of the most widely seen images of October 7, when video of Argamani being carried off on a motorcycle became a defining symbol of that day's chaos and terror. Argamani endured eight months in Hamas captivity before Israeli special forces rescued her in June 2024 during Operation Arnon, a daylight raid in Nuseirat that also freed three other hostages. Or was not as fortunate in the short term, remaining a hostage for more than two years until his release in October 2025 as part of a negotiated exchange. Sakr's death shows that Israel is still actively hunting down individuals tied to the October 7 attack years later, even as the broader war has wound down and a fragile ceasefire remains in place.
