A bus collided with scaffolding in Manhattan Thursday afternoon, injuring the driver and prompting a swift response from city officials. The incident occurred around 4:35 p.m. at 115 East 41st Street in the Murray Hill neighborhood, near Grand Central Terminal.

According to the NYPD, the empty bus, identified as fleet number 6499, lost control before striking the scaffolding. Fire officials transported the injured driver to Bellevue Hospital for treatment. First responders quickly secured the scene, closing the street to ensure public safety and inspect the adjacent building, which houses an art museum and an indoor golf studio.

Investigators have yet to release details regarding the cause of the crash. Authorities continue to examine the scene and review available evidence as part of an ongoing investigation.

The incident temporarily disrupted traffic in the busy Manhattan area, highlighting the importance of rapid response and public safety measures in dense urban environments. Officials have urged commuters to avoid the area while authorities complete their inspection and assessment.
