A Spectacular Summer Comes to a Close for Thousands of Talmidim at Camp Ohel Boruch and Camp Yachad
Tzeischem Leshalom: Camp Ohel Boruch Wraps Up a Historic Summer
After nine full weeks of growth and excitement at Camp Ohel Boruch, nearly 1,500 talmidim are making their way home. The boys are returning packed with Torah, avodah, yiras shomayim, and middos tovos following a truly rich and enjoyable summer season.
Parents have expressed immense hakaras hatov to the dedicated camp director, Harav Eliyahu Yitzchok Rosenberg Shlit"a, who stands at the helm of the camp and ensures that every single talmid thrives. Deep appreciation was also extended to the devoted Roshei Hamadrichim, Rabbi Matisy Biller Shlit"a and Rabbi Yosef Gold Shlit"a, for their tremendous work throughout the summer.
Last but certainly not least, special thanks were given to the camp's tireless Executive Director, Harav Dovid Vogel Shlit"a, who worked day and night for the camp's success. His dedication was especially evident this year with the incredible accomplishment of constructing the magnificent new building, "Mishkan Chava Pessil."
As the madrichim and Rebbeim shared emotional goodbyes with their campers, the talmidim are already looking forward to next summer—hopefully in Yerushalayim Ir Hakodesh with the coming of Moshiach.
Chalukas Haprasim and Mora Mikdash Program
A beautiful chalukas haprasim event for the summer's metztaynim was held with great splendor, graced by the presence of the Av Beis Din and Ram Shlit"a. The Rav Shlit"a made a special effort to attend the momentous event, sharing warm words of chizuk as the summer drew to a close. Camp Director Harav Eliyahu Yitzchok Rosenberg Shlit"a called up each talmid individually to distribute the prizes, which was followed by joyous dancing likvod haTorah.
At the conclusion of the summer, a massive gift distribution also took place for all the boys enrolled in the "Mora Mikdash" program. The participating talmidim received a complete set of Machzorim and signed a renewed kabbalah to refrain from speaking during davening and to maintain kavod Beis Medrash for another 40 days. As in previous years, this beautiful project was generously sponsored by Hanagid R' Shraga Tzvi Fishman and Hanagid R' Meir Mendel Gelbman.
Bobov-45 Farher
In a highlight of the summer's learning program, the Bobov-45 Rav Shlit"a expressed his deep satisfaction after farhering the 8th-grade talmidim of the esteemed melamed Harav Meir Rosenberg Shlit"a. The boys were tested on the sugya of Rabbi Chanina Segan Hakohanim, which they had toiled over throughout the summer. Following the farher, the Bobov-45 Rav Shlit"a sent a warm letter of appreciation to the Av Beis Din and Ram Shlit"a, and presented beautiful certificates to all the talmidim.
Camp Yachad Concludes with a "Yom Shekulo Torah"
The summer at Camp Yachad has also come to a highly successful end, leaving behind happy campers and highly satisfied parents.
This past Monday, the day camp celebrated the end of the season with a unique "Yom Shekulo Torah." The day began with a trip to Staten Island, where the talmidim were farhered by the Bukovitz Rav Shlit"a on the material they learned over the summer. The 5th grade was tested on Shiras Ha'azinu, the 4th grade on Maseches Rosh Hashanah, the 3rd grade on Perek Ein Omdin in Maseches Brachos, and the 2nd grade on the four parshiyos of Krias Shema. The Rav Shlit"a was amazed by the boys' fluency, noting how they answered every halacha question with the clarity of seasoned scholars.
Following the farher, the camp traveled to daven at the tziyon of Harav Tzvi Yehuda Steiner Z"L—a brother of Reb Shayale of Kerestir ZY"A—who is buried in Staten Island. The boys recited Tehillim, expressing gratitude for a wonderful summer and davening for a successful upcoming school year, before heading to a local park to relax and enjoy the rest of the trip.
The following day, Tuesday, Camp Yachad held its grand siyum and chalukas hateudos for all the talmidim. Parents expressed their profound gratitude to the dedicated directors, Harav Moshe Yoel Gertner Shlit"a and Harav Avraham Yehoshua Frank Shlit"a, as well as the devoted Roshei Hamadrichim, Rabbi Yaakov Eckstein and Rabbi Michoel Rosenfeld, for an unforgettable summer experience.
