Israeli technology firm XTEND has unveiled its ambitious “Robotic Force” concept, driven by the company’s proprietary XOS operating system. The platform is designed to link modular swarm drones with ground-based robotic systems into one cohesive and adaptable force. A single operator can direct complex missions across air and land without the usual spike in workload or complexity. Demonstration footage shows groups of drones flying in tight coordinated formations over open fields and dense forests, closely inspecting an abandoned building, and working alongside a small ground robot to escort a vehicle. These sequences highlight the system’s potential for reconnaissance, surveillance, and tactical support roles in challenging environments.

XTEND has already locked in significant defense contracts spanning the Middle East, Europe, the Asia-Pacific region, and the U.S. Department of Defense. The company recently listed on the Nasdaq as it expands the XOS system to additional ground platforms, including the AtlasROVER, which enables human-supervised autonomy in hazardous settings. The approach aims to give military and security users greater flexibility by treating mixed drone and robot teams as a single modular unit rather than separate systems. Questions remain about how the technology will perform under real combat stress and how quickly it can scale across different theaters. The launch positions XTEND as a notable player in the rapidly evolving field of autonomous and semi-autonomous robotic warfare.
