A major fundraising effort on behalf of the Olam HaTorah in Eretz Yisroel has expanded significantly, with organizers of the Keren Olam HaTorah campaign now reporting that 30,000 seminary girls representing 80 seminaries are participating in the initiative.
The latest figures represent a substantial expansion from the approximately 20,000 participants reported during the earlier stages of the campaign.
Call centers operating in Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak and Modi’in Illit have remained active as thousands of participants contact members of Klal Yisrael in Eretz Yisroel and abroad. Many of the participants have undertaken individual fundraising goals as part of the coordinated effort.
According to figures released by the campaign, more than NIS 20 million has already been raised.
The campaign is aimed at strengthening financial support for yeshivos and kollelim throughout Eretz Yisroel. Organizers say the broader Keren Olam HaTorah effort currently supports approximately 130,000 avreichim and bochurim learning in 1,589 yeshivos and kollelim.
The latest campaign figures state that approximately $10.88 million in monthly support has been pledged, while organizers say an additional $12 million per month is still required to meet the fund's target.
Gedolei Yisroel have also visited campaign centers as the fundraising drive has progressed, offering chizuk to participants involved in the effort.
The latest participation and fundraising totals mark a new stage in the initiative following the large-scale mobilization reported earlier this week, as the campaign continues ahead of Yom Kippur.
