Iranian Army spokesperson Brigadier General Mohammad Akraminia has confirmed that Tehran is actively working to upgrade its missile arsenal, pointing directly to lessons learned from its recent war with the United States and Israel. 'During this war, we concluded that we absolutely must increase the range of our missiles, as the enemy is currently positioned farther from our shores,' Akraminia said in an interview with Fars news agency. 'We have now moved in that direction.' He added that enemy forces are now operating at distances of up to 1,000 kilometers from Iran's coast, a shift that Tehran says exposed real gaps in its current missile reach and speed.

Akraminia didn't stop at range. He said the upgrades would touch the Army's entire missile inventory, covering both speed and precision, and specifically praised the performance of ground-launched missiles that struck enemy bases in Kuwait and sea-launched cruise missiles that hit enemy vessels during the war, calling the results effective even as Iran pushes for more. The announcement comes as tensions with Washington remain high, with Tehran also maintaining that the Strait of Hormuz will stay closed until a list of conditions is met. For a region already on edge, a declared push to extend Iran's missile reach is the kind of signal that tends to ripple well beyond its own borders.
