Thousands of Iranians poured into the streets for the eleventh consecutive day of nationwide protests, openly defying the Islamic Republic’s ruling establishment in what has become one of the most sustained uprisings in years. Demonstrators across dozens of cities marched against the regime’s economic mismanagement, corruption, and repression, signaling a deepening crisis of legitimacy for Tehran’s leadership.

The unrest was sparked by an accelerating economic collapse that has pushed inflation beyond 50 percent and severely devalued the national currency, wiping out savings and livelihoods. Students, merchants, workers, and families have joined the demonstrations, chanting against senior regime figures and openly rejecting clerical rule. In several locations, crowds were seen burning symbols of the Islamic Republic, an unmistakable act of political defiance.

Security forces, including units of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, have responded with force, leading to violent clashes and confirmed deaths among protesters. Despite arrests and intimidation, crowds have continued to grow, underscoring the regime’s difficulty in restoring control. Reports of security personnel abandoning posts and refusing orders have further highlighted fractures within the state’s enforcement apparatus.

Adding to the regime’s alarm, protesters have revived slogans calling for the return of the Pahlavi monarchy, a direct rejection of the revolutionary system imposed in 1979. Such chants, once rare, now echo openly in public squares, reflecting a population increasingly willing to articulate alternative futures for Iran.

The government’s reliance on external militias to bolster internal security has reinforced perceptions of weakness rather than strength. As demonstrations spread and persist, the Islamic Republic faces mounting pressure from a population that appears no longer willing to endure economic ruin, ideological rule, and political repression in silence.

The eleventh day of protests marks a critical moment. What began as economic outrage has evolved into a broad challenge to the regime’s authority, with Iranians signaling to the world that their struggle is not fleeting, but determined, organized, and ongoing.
