Dawid, a 26-year-old grey seal at Zoo Borysew in Poland, has taken the internet by storm with his love of autumn leaves. In a video released by the zoo, he rolls and plays in a huge pile of colorful leaves right by the water's edge. The footage has racked up millions of views on Instagram and TikTok, and viewers can't get enough of the enthusiastic seal. According to the zoo, the playtime is also part of his regular medical training and environmental enrichment routine.

Dawid's story started far from the leaf pile. He was born at Stockholm Zoo, later moved through Warsaw Zoo, and has now called Borysew home for 16 years. Over that time he has become a visitor favorite, known for his intelligence and for performing tricks during public feeding sessions. His viral moment has left many people curious about how zoo animals are trained and what enrichment looks like behind the scenes. For one very happy seal, though, it looks like autumn is simply the best season of the year.
