Boro Park:

The Belzer Rebbe Shlit"a has issued a special request, asking women to light an additional Shabbos candle each week as a zechus for Yidden who have strayed from Yiddishkeit to do teshuvah.

The Rebbe specified that this should only be undertaken if it can be done easily, and it must be done bli neder.

When lighting this extra candle for the first time this week, one should say: "Hareini mosif bezos ner echad bli neder, verak be'ofen she'uchal lekayem benakel kabalah zu."

Each week upon lighting, the following tefillah should be recited: "Hareini madlikah ner zeh lichvod Shabbos Kodesh lizchus acheinu Bnei Yisroel hato'im miderech hatorah, sheyizku lashuv biteshuva sheleimah bimeheira."

The Rebbe promised a tremendous bracha: In the zechus of davening for other neshamos, those who take on this practice will see abundant, pure Yiddishe nachas from their own children.

Rockland County:

Following the success of the Montebello Eruv, askanim have now completed another massive project: expanding the Suffern Eruv to accommodate dozens of additional families.

The expanded eruv now encompasses the Good Samaritan Hospital area on Route 59, stretching up Route 202 to Rockland Turnpike, where it connects with the existing eruv infrastructure.

The expansion was a highly complex undertaking. Askanim had to devise specialized technical solutions in various locations to ensure the eruv is 100% kosher l'mehadrin.

After extensive work, the project is finally complete. Starting this week, the new section is officially kosher and ready for use.

A beautiful gathering was recently held for local residents to celebrate the milestone and review the important halachos regarding the new eruv.
