Federal authorities have arrested four individuals in Florida and California for plotting New Year’s Eve bomb attacks, preventing potentially deadly incidents at multiple logistics centers. The suspects, members of the extremist Turtle Island Liberation Front, were apprehended after surveillance revealed them testing explosive precursors in a desert location.

The FBI announced on December 15, 2025, that the group had intended to target five locations in Los Angeles and Orange Counties, California. Footage captured by an FBI surveillance aircraft shows the suspects arranging materials on a table in the desert before any functional devices were assembled. Law enforcement officials emphasized that the swift intervention prevented loss of life and significant property damage.

The arrested individuals were taken into custody by FBI SWAT teams during the desert operation. Authorities confirmed that the group had traveled from Florida to California to conduct tests of their planned explosives. Investigators described the suspects as adhering to a far-left, pro-Palestinian ideology with anti-capitalist motives, linking their targets to logistics and shipping facilities.

Video released during the press conference shows aerial surveillance of the suspects in the desert and their subsequent apprehension. The FBI stressed that timely intelligence, coordination across state lines, and rapid deployment of tactical units were crucial to averting the plot.

Officials continue to review the investigation and anticipate additional charges as they examine connections, communications, and potential accomplices. The case serves as a reminder of the ongoing threat posed by ideologically motivated domestic extremism and the importance of proactive law enforcement in preventing attacks.
