WILLIAMSBURG, BROOKLYN — New York gubernatorial candidate Bruce Blakeman visited Williamsburg for a meeting with prominent philanthropist Yoeli Landau and local community leaders to discuss several issues affecting Orthodox Jewish families across the neighborhood.
The meeting took place at Landau’s home, where participants discussed the challenges facing Williamsburg’s growing community, including the need for additional affordable housing and opportunities for local families to remain in the neighborhood.
Yeshiva education and school choice were also among the topics raised during the discussion, along with concerns about neighborhood safety.
The visit provided an opportunity for community representatives to bring local priorities directly to a candidate seeking statewide office.
Williamsburg is home to a large Chassidishe community, where housing affordability, access to education, and public safety remain important issues for residents and community institutions.
The gathering centered on those community concerns as local leaders discussed the challenges facing families and mosdos in Williamsburg.
